dr hab. eng. Łukasz Marciniak
Dr hab. Łukasz Marciniak, prof Institute of Low Temperatures and Structural Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences (ILTSR PAS) obtained the academic degree of doctor of physical sciences in 2014 (ILTSR PAS), habilitation of physical sciences in 2017 (ILTSR PAS) and since 2019 he has been employed as a professor at the ILTSR PAS. He is the co-author of 160 scientific publications in high-quality journals (including Light Science and Applications, ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, Chemistry of Materials, Journal of Material Chemistry, Chemical Engineering Journal, etc.) cited over 3900 times (according to Google Scholar on May 13, 2022). He was or is the manager of many research projects such as Foundation for Polish Science (FPS) First Team, National Science Center (NSC) Opus x2, NSC Beethoven Classic, NSC Sonata, NSC Preludium, projects "Enterprising Ph.D. student" and "Grant Plus" organized by the Marshal's Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. He is a laureate of many scientific awards: the FPS Start 2015 and 2016 scholarship, the MNiSW Award for young outstanding scientists 2015-2018, the Iuvenes Wratislaviae 2017 scientific award, finalist of the scientific award of the “Polityka” journal 2018, 2x gold medal at the Brussels Innova, distinction in the DGP Eureka “Discover Polish inventions” in 2016. He is the co-author of 7 national and 2 international patents and 8 patent applications. He serves as the associated editor in the Chemical Engineering Journal and a member of the expert group of the National Agency for Academic Exchange NAWA. The thematic scope of his research concerns the luminescent properties of inorganic materials doped with lanthanide ions and transition metals in the form of crystals, glasses, microcrystalline powders, and nanocrystals for applications in lighting, imaging, and remote monitoring of physical parameters (luminescence thermometry, luminescence manometry).
